Abstract
My project is a loudspeaker concept. The model on a 1:2 scale shows how soundwaves can be visualized. The object can be imagined in multiple colour and surface variations. Light transmitted via controls of the individual reflections of sound in the body of the speaker represent an unusual approach to the transfer of soundwaves. At the same time this highlights an individual architectural component. The novel surface technology of this concept provides multiple choices of material and identification for the listener, for individualized esthetical viewpoints and demands.
Panel statement:
The "Home Cinema System" is a meaningful and significant surface modulation of the front of loudspeakers, a surface which can also be covered in a highly reflective format, in order to enhance the optical effect by the play with light even more. The panel recognized above all the materialization of the soundwaves, volatile in themselves, and here transmitted into a highly emotional surface design by tracing the mutual penetration of the low three-dimensional notes accompanied by the high-pitched notes with their staccato of short soundwaves and this initiates a strong sensual relation with the product, and this also gives the impression of transforming the full sound of the loudspeaker permanently into an optical event.
